What were you afraid of as a child that seems silly to you now?

That's a long list, but "Clash of the Titans" sticks out as the silliest thing that scared the bejesus out of me. I only recently got my bejesus back, in fact. Behold the horror:
My dad took my sister and me to see this when I about four. I saw a big cardboard standee in the lobby that set me off crying before I even got in the theater. The cardboard Kraken was freaky, but Medusa was the clincher. I pouted through the previews, and when the movie started, I turned around and watched the projector. I must have given that up pretty early, because I remember watching most of the movie, in a semi-catatonic state.
A weirder one, which I can't explain, was the opening credits for Doctor Who. I had to politely leave the room when the show came on.
I was tempted to give Sleestacks as an answer, because they freaked me out way more than Medusa and crew. But I can't call them silly. They still scare the crap out of me. If a Sleestack walked in here right now, I would bust out crying and pass out in a matter of seconds.
Nobody -- not the Alien, not the Predator, not Leatherface, not the Grudge kid -- has anything on these guys. The only real challengers are the Shining twins.
Look at this mofo! Pure evil!
